Next Meeting

The Walker County Hospital District Board Meetings have changed from the 4th Wednesday of each month to the 4th Tuesday of each month moving forward other than any Special Meetings we might have.

Our next regular Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Blalock Room on the 6th Floor of the First National Bank Building, located at 1300 11th Street, Huntsville, TX 77340.

Please note that this month’s regular meeting has been moved earlier than usual to allow the Board to take action on matters related to the upcoming election, as the deadline to order the election is August 17, 2026.

Walker County Indigent Care Program

As of February 24. 2026, The Walker County Hospital District changed the eligibility standards for basic health services provided through the District’s Indigent Care Program from One Hundred percent (100%) of the Federal poverty level to Two Hundred Percent (200%) of the Federal poverty level.

This change will take effect March 1, 2026, and will allow the Indigent Care Program to include more clients who qualify for help with their health care.
